The main feature of this holiday home is the way it was placed on the site. Built on a mound, on what is otherwise low laying land; it has an enhancing quality to the manmade and natural environment.
The materials are a steel & timber frame, rammed earth, “facade “ custom orb & zinc cladding, burnished concrete floor and black anodized windows. Glass all around (sides and gables) above 2.1m together with clever LED lighting creates the impression of a floating roof. A plywood ceiling and other internal timber joinery add a warm and ambient feel against the more minimal industrial style.
