Boomerang
These 2 beach houses sit alongside each other on one of the most beautiful beaches in NSW. While not identical they share a common thread in architecture and composition of materials.
A strong emphasis was placed on using materials that are highly durable and will age gracefully over time – yes, like a good wine!
A combination of concrete (tilt panel & off form), Australian hardwood (tallowwood), zinc, glass and an evolving landscape meet this objective beautifully. The construction management and design of details was done in close collaboration with a very architecturally aware and gifted owner.
The buildings were designed by Collins and Turner architects who won the prestigious RAIA Aaron Bolot Award for multiple housing in 2009
